ENGLISH CLUB!!!( Clube de Inglês!!!)

O 'English Club' aconteceu terça feira( 30/04/13), na Livraria Janina, shopping 3 Américas, Cuiabá-MT.
Foi a primeira edição do ano.
O que tenho a dizer....Obrigada a todos!!!
Alguns alunos meus participaram, alunos de escola pública, escola particular regular, profissionais de diversas áreas...e até mesmo alunas de cursos de inglês de diferentes escolas.

O que pretendo com isso...???
Simplesmente criar uma atmosfera dinâmica onde possamos nos divertir aprendendo/revisando/fixando mais o Inglês!!!

Sou uma entusiasta....mas por enquanto atuo sozinha, porque foi aonde descobri que posso trabalhar com mais liberdade, mas respeitando as necessidades individuais dos meus alunos.

Pretendo mesclar o 'English Club', sendo um mês para um nível mais básico de inglês, e o outro para um nível mais avançado, trabalhando a Conversação(Conversation)...que provavelmente será apenas para adultos. Em breve novidades a respeito.

Segue uma atividade singela que fiz...mas se brincar foi a de mais sucesso,rsrs.

* SPELLING GAME.

* As letras minusculas entre parenteses NÃO SÃO A FORMA CORRETA DA FONÉTICA....simplesmente uma maneira de auxiliar na pronúncia correta de cada letra do alfabeto.

Com uma lista de 5 a 6 palavras em inglês( quantidade ao critério do professor/a, ou pais), o/a aluno/a SOLETRA as palavras.
Pena que nosso tempo foi curto e não pude fazer todas as palavras que tinham em minha lista.
A premiação foi um mini-dicionário em inglês, que agradou muito!!!

STEP 2- Coloque as frases em ordem

A partir de 05 de Março de 2013, o 'English Center' em parceria com a 'Livraria Janina' inicia o 'English Club'!!!

Que é o English Club???

É um encontro mensal entre pessoas que queiram praticar  mais a língua Inglesa de uma forma dinâmica,consequentemente aperfeiçoando suas habilidades.

Tips for English Teachers

I would like to share some ideas for English Classes, that sometimes I like to do. They are very fun, but some of them work better when you teach a group.

So here we go...

1) LOUD DICTATION- You can choose any text that you like best to work in this specific class. You play any music that your students enjoy and put it VERY LOUD!!! While the music is playing, they are having fun and working. They will have to shout sometimes so their partner can understand the words. The group that finishes first, of course is the WINNER!

2) RUNNING DICTATION- I love this one! You write the same text/sentence on two or three( depends on the number of students you have) white pieces of papers, and glue them on the wall far way from where they are sitting. One student is responsible for writing and the other is the one that will run and bring the information he/she reads. It is really funny and fun, because sometimes they forget what they have just read and run back again, making some funny faces and saying funny things. I always have a blast!
Notice that to be the group winner, EVERYTHING has to be correctly spelled.

3) FIRST DAY OF CLASS- This one I dedicate to my brother Mauricio that used to work with me and loved to do this activity with his students.
You put on the board WORDS that can be related or not to you. Have students ask questions using the words and from what you say they will find out if it is true or not.
Example: FOURTY EIGHT.
students: Are you 48 years old? Is 48 the number of your house? Is 48 your lucky number? Is your husband fourty eight years old? Etc...
Keep them asking you questions until they get it right, then go to the next word.

4) VIDEO AND CONVERSATION- I like to work with a police or drama movie/film so you can say that they will have to figure out the CRIME SCENE.
Before you play the scene that you have selected, tell them to write down as many questions they can to interrogate you , so they will have an idea about what really happened during the "crime". When they have the idea, they will have to tell you. You can not say if it is correct or not because the interesting thing is for them to watch and retell the scene again if it is very different from what really happened.

I hope you have enjoyed these ideas and I am willing to help you in coming up with new ideas for your English Classes.

Fans of Demi Lovato and Justin Bieber!!!

Do you remember that I told you about how Mariella Barros is crazy about 'Demi Lovato'? Do you also remember Giovanna Bulhões that is crazy about 'Justin Bieber'?
Well...they finally met each other, last friday in 'English Center'!

Mariella has become an idol for Giovanna since they have lots in common.
Giovanna wanted to meet Mariella very bad, so we all met, talked, ate, drank juice and had lots of fun.

Mari is older than Gio, so she has more experience in these things of being a fan of a 'Celebrity'. She gave many tips and sites about fan clubs of Justin Bieber for Gio. I am sure Giovanna will remember this day for the rest of her teen life, and Mariella, too.

Mariella went to the USA on Sunday 19th....and will live there for a while. I hope she has a great time and come back next year with lots of news for us. We will miss her very much.

If you have a dream...go after it,ok.

SENIOR YEARS( MATURIDADE/MELHOR IDADE)

Porque estudar inglês na Maturidade? ( após os 50)

O inglês como qualquer outra língua estrangeira tem como uma das formas mais eficazes de estimular e trabalhar o cérebro! Quando estudamos uma língua estrangeira estamos trabalhando com todos os hemisférios cerebrais; isto é, nos forçando,praticando e colocando o nosso cérebro para trabalhar, exercitar, como se fosse o nosso corpo físico trabalhando em uma academia de ginastica.

Citando outros exemplos mais simples de porque estudar a língua inglesa nessa altura da vida, seria simplesmente pelo prazer e satisfação de estar realizando algo que por algum motivo não foi possível no passado.

Muitos adultos na maturidade procuram um curso de línguas pelos mais variados motivos, sendo alguns:

- Acompanhar um neto/a à uma viagem internacional e poder se "virar" um pouco sem ter que depender de outras pessoas.
- Traduzir suas músicas favoritas.
- Ter o prazer de assistir a um belo filme e ver que é capaz de identificar o vocabulário em inglês.
- Ter uma atividade fora de casa, que faça essa pessoa se sentir capaz de aprender um novo idioma e ter o prazer e a felicidade de conviver e fazer novas e interessantes amizades da sua mesma faixa etária.
- E simplesmente ter o prazer de estudar uma língua tão prazerosa quanto ao Inglês!

REMEMBER...*TONGUE TWISTERS are sentences or phrases meant to be difficult to pronounce, especially when repeated quickly.

TO BE X PRESENT SIMPLE

Ola!!! Como você já sabe...sou English Teacher ha 13 anos,etc,etc,etc....
Mas tenho meu temores enquanto professora( com certeza muitos também ) que até hoje não cessam!
Como uma casa, um edifício, qualquer Construção, acredito que a Base tem que ser Sólida..não?!?!?
Então...ao longo dos anos nos deparamos com vários tipos( me refiro ao nível linguistico) de Alunos, e juro para você, são poucos que chegam à um Nível Avançado de Inglês sabendo conversar fluentemente sem se atrapalhar com o tal do VERB TO BE!!!
Muito comum se ouvir-" I'm like to....", "I'm work in a company", "I'm run everyday...."

Claro que isso se torna um vicio, que precisaria ser trabalhado, retirado la do início, la da tão preciosa BASE!!! Mas por que não é retirado??? Existem justificativas e mais justificativas,hora "culpa "do teacher,hora "culpa " do próprio aluno.

Então não adianta eu ficar aqui só apontando os pontos negativos e fazendo críticas construtivas, se não fazer a minha parte, não é???

Então vamos lá!!!

Dedico essa postagem de hoje para uma aluna Lindíssima, à Terezinha;
Terezinha é uma moça bem sucedida em todos os campos de sua vida e bastante viajada. Somente agora Terezinha decidiu estudar Inglês( Graças á Deus,rsrs) e estamos indo muito bem....até nos depararmos com o TO BE X PRESENT SIMPLE!!!
Terezinha me disse que estava indo tudo bem em sua cabeça ( verb to be), mas que agora as coisas se complicaram.... ela se confunde quando se usa, AM/IS/ARE e quando se usa ,DO/DOES....

Vou tentar explicar de uma maneira sucinta, como expliquei para ela agora pouco;

VERB TO BE( AM/IS/ARE- ESSES 3 SIGNIFICAM A MESMA COISA....SE DIFERENCIAM PELO PRONOME A SER USADO COM O RESPECTIVO VERBO)

EX: I  AM       HE  IS       YOU ARE

PEOPLE Pelo amor de Deus...SÓ SIGNIFICA   SER/ESTAR, SER/ESTAR, SER/ESTAR,ok!!!!
BUT... Vocês precisam saber que eles são VERBOS INDEPENDENTES!!!! NAO PRECISAM DE AUXILIAR...como o PRESENT SIMPLE PRECISA do  DO, DOES,ok!!!

Ex:
TO BE
I am                You are             She is
I am not.          You are not.      She is not.
Am I...?           Are you....?       Is she.....?

PRESENT SIMPLE
DO you like English? ( Precisamos dos auxiliares DO/DOES para fazermos perguntas)

I like English. ( Em frases afirmativas SOMENTE TRABALHAMOS COM O VERBO, não trabalhamos com o auxiliar)

I do not like Chinese(rsrs). ( Em frases negativas precisamos dos auxiliares DO/DOES +NOT + VERBO)

* DICA, SUGESTÃO DE EXERCICIO.
- Escreva TUDO QUE VC É/ESTA EM PORTUGUÊS, depois passe para o INGLÊS.
- Escreva sobre  SUA VIDA, A SUA ROTINA em portugês, depois passe para o INGLÊS.
